When you open a box 

containing something you bought,

it typically comes with a guide..

sort of like some easy steps on how to make your new lamp stand high..

like maybe step one: 

make sure you have all of your tools,

lay them out in a nice line,

scissors, wrench, all organized..

now see this as your future,

what you thought you wanted was all layed out.

But the table was a bit wobbly,

and sometimes you put the wrench on the table,

and other times the scissors were handed to you.

Your world resembled a pattern,

it followed what looked like a ruler,

but what nobody realized was 

that your ruler was made of rubber,

that it bent, 

and molded with the weight of the moment, 

or the heat from the hour,

or the rhythm of your pulse..

what nobody realized 

was that you didn't need these instructions,

because you would somehow make it..
